About Us

Palos Animal Hospital was founded by Dr. William T. Boozer and his wife, Marge, in 1958.  The original animal hospital was opened in a small storefront on Harlem Avenue.  In 1960, the practice moved into a new building at its present location.  Palos Animal Hospital was one of the first small animal practices to open in the south suburbs of Chicago.  In his early days, Dr. Boozer spent his mornings as the chief veterinarian in the Chicago Stockyards, and his afternoons and evenings seeing patients at Palos Animal Hospital.  What began as a staff of two in 1958 has now grown to a staff of 30 that includes 6 veterinarians, 6 certified veterinary technicians, and 18 support staff members.

Currently under the ownership of Dr. Thomas Kleven, Palos Animal Hospital offers a wide range of medical, surgical, and diagnostic tools to provide thorough care for all life stages of your pet.  We also work closely with local specialty centers if advanced diagnostics or treatments are required.

Our goal is to care for your pet just as we would our own.  Our staff understands the bond that exists between you and your pet.  We continually strive to improve and will accept nothing short of a superior standard for our actions and services.
