Surgical Services:  Palos Animal Hospital is equipped to perform most types of soft-tissue surgery.  Minor orthopedic procedures can also be scheduled.

Anesthesia:
  We use the safest available anesthetics and monitor each patient closely during every procedure.  Heart rate, respiration, ECG, temperature, blood pressure, carbon dioxide levels, and oxygen levels are monitored for every patient.

Radiology Services:
  Palos Animal Hospital make use of digital radiography and an ultrasound machine to provide the best possible diagnostic testing.

Cardiology:
On-site ECG and blood pressure monitoring is available.  Consultations and echocardiograms (heart ultrasounds) with a cardiology specialist can also be scheduled.

Dentistry:
 Dogs and cats recieve thorough dental cleanings and the health of each tooth is noted on a chart to monitor oral health. We are also able to perform minor oral surgery.  Digital dental radiography is used when needed to fully evaluate the oral health of your pet.

Video Otoscope: A diagnostic tool used for in-depth evaluation of structures deep in the ear canal.  A small camera is placed in the ear and the image is projected onto a television screen to allow our doctors the best possible view of a hard-to-see area.

Laboratory:
  Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, urinalysis and parasite testing. We also partner with outside veterinary laboratories and universities for specialized diagnostic tests and consultations.

Permanent identification:
We offer AVID microchip identification for dogs and cats.

Pharmacy:
  We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of prescription diets.

Boarding:  We are happy to care for your pet while you are traveling!  We are also able to care for boarders with special medical needs, such as daily medication or insulin shots.  All dogs are given a free bath, nail trim, and ear cleaning.

Dogs must be up to date on rabies, distemper, and bordetella (kennel cough) vaccines.  Cats must be up to date on rabies and feline distemper vaccines. 

Grooming:
  Routine and therapeutic bathing is available for both dogs and cats.  All pets recieve a free nail trim and ear cleaning with their bath.  We also offer shavedowns for cats upon request.  Professional grooming services are also available.
